White House: Withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gaza is related to rest and re-equipment

The White House has stated that the withdrawal of the Israel Defense Forces from the southern part of the Gaza Strip is due to re-equipment of personnel and for rest. This was stated by the coordinator of the White House National Security Council, John Kirby, in the ABC edition.

The administration of the American president notes that such Israeli actions may not necessarily indicate any new IDF operations in the region in the future.

"They've been in combat for 4 months, and we're getting reports that they're tired, that they need to be re-equipped," Kirby said.

At the same time, the White House spokesman added that it is currently "difficult to say" what exactly is happening in the Gaza Strip in the context of the movement of Israeli troops.

"As far as we understand and judging by their public statements, it's really about rest and re-equipment of these troops. This may not necessarily indicate any future new operation of these troops," Kirby said.
