Russian troops have begun bombing Ukraine with ODAB-1500 bombs. They are capable of completely destroying a multi-story building. Illia Yevlash, a spokesman of the Air Force Command, said this during a telethon.
According to him, the enemy has "an extremely large number" of bombs weighing 1500 kg.
"This is a very powerful weapon. 1,500 kg is enough to destroy a nine-story panel house or an old Khrushchevka. Of course, Russia has a lot of such bombs," emphasized Yevlash.
The Air Force representative added that Russians use these bombs to deplete Ukrainian air defense.
According to him, Ukraine's main task now is to fight directly against the carriers of such bombs. These are Su-34 and Su-35 fighters.
"Of course, this is not an easy task, but we have shown that we can perform such extremely complex operations. This requires certain conditions. The most important thing is that we need more diverse Western systems. Unfortunately, we cannot produce them on our own now, so we rely on our partners in this matter," he summarized.
