EU approves allocation of €5 billion for military support to Ukraine

At a meeting of the EU Council of Foreign Ministers, which was attended by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, a final decision was made to allocate an additional €5 billion for military aid to Ukraine under the European Peace Fund. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

"The meeting of the EU Council of Foreign Ministers, which was attended by the Foreign Minister of Ukraine, made a final decision to allocate an additional 5 billion euros for military support to Ukraine under the European Peace Fund. The minister expressed his gratitude to his colleagues for this step," the ministry said in a statement.

During the meeting, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister called on European partners to accelerate the supply of weapons and ammunition to the Ukrainian military, as well as the development of the defense industries of the EU and Ukraine.

He also expressed gratitude to the Czech Republic for its initiative to purchase artillery ammunition for Ukraine and to other EU member states that have provided their contributions for this purpose.

The Ukrainian Foreign Minister emphasized the need to support Ukraine in countering Russia's aggression and called for increased sanctions pressure against the aggressor states.

He also expressed hope for an objective assessment of Ukraine's progress in negotiations on EU accession and the use of profits from frozen Russian assets to purchase military equipment for Ukraine.
