Kuleba confirmed the suspension of consular services: Men abroad are not released from their duty to the Motherland

Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba confirmed the information about the suspension of consular services for Ukrainian citizens of military age abroad. He stated that this was his order and instructed to take measures to restore "fair treatment of men of mobilization age in Ukraine and abroad."

Kuleba believes that men's stay abroad does not exempt them from their "duty to the Motherland" and assured that clarifications on this issue will be provided soon.

"The way it looks now is that a man of military age has gone abroad, shown his state that the issue of its survival does not concern him, and then comes back and wants to receive services from this state. If these people believe that someone is fighting far away at the front and giving their lives for this state, while someone is sitting abroad but will receive services from this state, then this is not how it works," Minister wrote on social media X.

He emphasized that the obligation to update one's documents with the TCC existed even before the new law on mobilization was passed.

"Staying abroad does not release a citizen of his or her duties to the homeland. That is why yesterday I instructed to take measures to restore fair treatment of men of mobilization age in Ukraine and abroad. It will be fair," Kuleba said.
