Members of the French National Assembly (lower house of parliament) voted to approve Prime Minister Gabriel Attal's report on the strategy of supporting Ukraine and the concluded bilateral security agreement, while criticizing President Macron for his statement about the possible deployment of Western troops to Ukrainian territory. This was reported by Le Figaro.

Before the vote, Prime Minister Gabriel Attal spoke in the National Assembly and called on parliamentarians to express support for the agreement and Kyiv.
"To vote against means to give Vladimir Putin all the arguments and the signal he is waiting for... To abstain means to shirk our responsibility to history," he emphasized.
During the debate, the majority of deputies expressed support for Ukraine, but at the same time criticized certain statements by President Emmanuel Macron, in particular regarding the possible deployment of Western troops to Ukrainian territory.
