Speaker of the AFU spoke about the situation in the Tavria direction: Enemy is not preparing a striking fist for a breakthrough

Since the beginning of the day, the enemy has been intensifying its activity in the Tavria direction, but there is no talk of the enemy preparing a "shock fist" for a breakthrough. This was reported by Dmytro Likhovyi, spokesman for the Tavria operational and strategic group of troops, during a telethon.

"Today we are witnessing even greater activation of the enemy, when from 00:00 as of 6 am we had 11 combat clashes along the entire front line. Since the beginning of the day in the morning, 15 combat clashes were recorded in the Donetsk sector and 6 combat clashes in the Zaporizhzhia sector," he said.

The speaker noted that two-thirds of the fighting along the entire frontline took place in the area of responsibility of the Tavria operational-strategic group. He noted that the nature of the hostilities is intense and the enemy is not giving up trying to accomplish "some political tasks" before the presidential elections in Russia.

Likhovyi added that the intensity of fighting is high in all areas of the Tavria operational-strategic group's area of responsibility. In particular, the Novopavlivka direction remains particularly active. The Avdiivka direction remains hot as well.

"At the same time, Orikhiv and Zaporizhzhia are also quite tense, where the enemy also attacks with small assault groups and is not successful. But the more it attacks, the more the results of combat operations show the destruction of the enemy," he emphasized.

Answering the question whether the enemy is creating a striking fist to break through the Ukrainian defense, Likhovyi said no.

"We see all the attempts of the Russians to carry out a certain rotation, to reinforce the units that are being destroyed, but there is no reason to say that in any of the directions of the Tavria operational-strategic group the enemy is forming a striking fist for a major breakthrough deep into our defense," he said.

According to him, the total number of Russian troops in each section "remains constant, plus or minus a few."

"There is no question of forming "shock fists", the speaker said.

In total, there are about 48,000 Russian troops in the Avdiivka direction and about 50,000 in the Zaporizhzhia direction.
