Democrats launch investigation into SpaceX over Russian military's use of Starlink - The Washington Post

Democrats in the US House of Representatives have launched an investigation into American businessman Elon Musk's SpaceX company over the use of Starlink satellite communication terminals by Russian troops at the front. This was reported by The Washington Post with reference to two lawmakers.

Democrats Jamie Raskin and Robert Garcia told reporters that they are concerned about reports from Ukrainian intelligence about the use of Starlink by Russian invaders. The lawmakers want to check whether Elon Musk's company has taken adequate security measures to thwart Russia.

The congressmen warned SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell that Russia's alleged use of Starlink "poses a serious threat to Ukraine's security, Ukrainian lives, and US national security" by sending her a corresponding letter.

"We are concerned that you may not have adequate safeguards and policies in place," the document, which was obtained by WP, reads.
