A deadly terrorist attack in the center of Krakow was carried out by a 25-year-old Polish citizen. He killed six people and wounded another twelve, with two police officers among the injured, RMF FM reports.
According to the Polish police, the suspect in the attack on the Main Market Square is currently in law enforcement custody.
Meanwhile, law enforcement officials have denied widespread reports regarding the death of a police officer and information about a possible second attacker.
"The only known perpetrator of the incident is under police custody," the agency stated.
According to media reports, the attacker drove onto the square in a black Subaru before opening fire on random passersby. He utilized an AR-15 rifle.
Law enforcement officers shot and wounded the attacker. He has been transported to a hospital in Krakow.
The police noted that the man acted alone.
