Scholz on Taurus: Ukraine will not receive missiles if it requires German soldiers to operate them

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has ruled out the possibility of supplying Taurus missiles to Ukraine if German soldiers are required to operate them. This was reported by The Guardian.

"You cannot create a weapons system that will have a very wide reach and then not think about how you can control the weapons system," the chancellor said.

He noted that if Germany wants to "have control" over the weapons supplied to Kyiv, it is possible only with the participation of German soldiers.

"And if you need such control, and the only option that is possible is with the participation of German soldiers, then this option is absolutely unacceptable to me," the chancellor added.
