Following the words of French President Emmanuel Macron, Russian President Vladimir Putin has threatened "tragic consequences" for countries that dare to send their troops to Ukraine. Putin said this during his address to the Federal Assembly on February 29.
"The West says that Russia is allegedly going to attack Europe, which is some kind of nonsense. They are talking about the possibility of sending NATO troops to Ukraine, but we remember the fate of those who once sent their contingents to our country. But now the consequences for possible interventionists will be much more tragic. They must realize that we also have weapons that can hit targets on their territory. Everything that they (the West and the United States - ed.) invent and scare the whole world with really threatens a conflict with the use of nuclear weapons, which means the destruction of civilization," the statement reads.
