Night attack on Ukraine: 13 drones out of 19 shot down

On the night of February 21, Russian troops attacked the territory of Ukraine with several types of missiles and Shahed-type attack drones. This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.


It is noted that the enemy used an S-300 anti-aircraft guided missile from the Rostov region of the Russian Federation, an X-59 guided aircraft missile from the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation, as well as four X-22 cruise missiles from the Rostov region and 19 Shahed-type attack drones from the Russian Primorsko-Akhtarsk.


As a result of the air defense forces' combat operations, an X-59 guided missile was destroyed in Poltava region and 13 of the 19 Shahed drones were destroyed in Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions. Some of the six UAVs that were not shot down did not reach their targets.


Anti-aircraft missile units, mobile fire groups, and electronic warfare units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces were involved in repelling the air attack.
