A representative of the State Border Guard Service, Andriy Demchenko, commented on the intentions of Polish farmers to completely block the border with Ukraine during a telethon. According to him, border guards have no information about a complete blockade.
As of today, six out of nine checkpoints remain blocked.
"We have not received any information from Polish border guards that other directions will be blocked. However, it should be taken into account that there are nine checkpoints on the border with Poland, six of which are currently blocked or where traffic is significantly hampered for trucks. And among these six, four are the largest checkpoints where trucks weighing more than 7.5 tons can cross the border," said Demchenko.
According to him, the three remaining routes have their own peculiarities.
The speaker noted that on some routes, empty trucks weighing more than 7.5 tons can cross the border, while other routes allow smaller trucks to move in both directions.
It should be noted that on February 20, Polish farmers announced a complete blockade of all checkpoints on the Polish-Ukrainian border.
