Ukrainian Armed Forces in Avdiivka are withdrawing to more favorable positions in some places, said Dmytro Likhovyi, spokesman for the Joint Press Center of the Tauride Defense Forces.
"In Avdiivka, our units are maneuvering to more favorable positions. Supply to Avdiivka and evacuation from there are complicated. However, we are using a backup logistics artery prepared in advance," he said during the telethon.
Likhovyi reports that "we do not fight with meat, we are also use maneuver, and when the situation becomes the most difficult, decisions are made on new defensive lines."
The spokesperson also noted that the enemy wants to move west of the Avdiivka Coke Plant, but is facing decent resistance there. In this direction, the Russians have a significant advantage in personnel and aviation component.
"Aircraft are operating without entering the target area, they are working as airborne units," he said.
According to the speaker, the enemy also has an advantage in shells.
"There are simply physical limits, there is a bar above which you cannot jump with all your will. As for the personnel, unfortunately, it is a multiple advantage," noted Likhovyi.
He added that the enemy was unable to bypass Avdiivka from the west and "pushed into the city's buildings."
"Fighting is taking place in the urban area... the size of the assault groups on the Russian side is growing. The number of these groups is growing. They are joined by armored groups in the form of tanks and other armored vehicles," he said.
