No one is holding on to "piles of stones and burnt iron" in Avdiivka, as the priority for the command is to save the lives of the soldiers. This was stated by Dmytro Likhovyi, spokesman for the Tauride Defense Forces, during a telethon.
According to him, Ukrainian soldiers fight for every meter of land, but the priority remains the personnel.
"At a time when the situation on the battlefield becomes the most difficult, the main thing is to save the lives of soldiers and take them to another line, to act flexibly, to maneuver to save the soldiers for further combat operations, to liberate the territory," said Likhovyi.
He noted that the battles for Avdiivka and the shelling of the surrounding cities and villages show what each settlement can turn into after the front line moves westward.
Earlier, we reported that the Ukrainian command has prepared backup supply routes in case the Russians cut the main logistics route to Avdiivka.
