As a result of drone strikes carried out by Russian troops on an oil depot in the Nemyshlyansky district of Kharkiv resulted in a leak of oil products into the ecosystem. This was reported by the press service of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.

"According to preliminary data, about 3,000 tons of products have entered the environment... Specialists of the State Environmental Inspectorate in the Kharkiv region immediately took water samples at 9 objects in Kharkiv and the region, namely in the Udy River. The samples were sent for testing to the Ukrainian Research Institute of Environmental Problems to determine the level of pollution and the presence of harmful substances," the press service said.

According to the results of preliminary studies, oil products did not get into drinking water sources.

According to the press service, an algorithm of actions has been developed to prevent harmful substances from entering the Siverskyi Donets River.

"A place has been identified on the channel of the Udy River where measures will be taken to stop the movement of oil products using port infrastructure fences and disinfect water resources with a sorbent," the press service of the administration reports.

In addition, the decision was made to intensify inspections and control measures at the places of storage, transportation and sale of oil products and other dangerous objects in the Kharkiv region.
