The Russian Federation continues its assaults in the area of Avdiivka. Russian special forces have been deployed there. This was stated by Dmytro Likhovyi, spokesman for the Tauride Defense Forces, on the air of a national telethon.


"We can see the enemy's intentions, they want to quickly encircle Avdiivka. We are countering, the front line is moving in both directions," he said.


According to him, the Russians used to use the tactics of small infantry groups near Avdiivka. However, recently they have changed their actions and started to engage more armored vehicles - tanks and infantry fighting vehicles. In addition, special forces have been deployed to Avdiivka.


"There is a regular Russian army there, very well trained, motorized riflemen, paratroopers, and special forces," he said.

At the same time, the commander of the 47th separate mechanized brigade, Dmytro Ryumshyn, said that the Russian army is no longer conducts "meat assaults" in Avdiivka, but works in small assault groups with support from the sky.

"As long as we have the forces and means, the enemy will not be able to surround Avdiivka. They are no longer trying to throw "meat waves" because they no longer have these "meat waves". From time to time they try to test our defense with small assault groups, before that they use aviation. Our soldiers are holding their ground," Ryumshyn said.


According to him, the Storm-Z and Storm-V units, formed from prisoners, are taking part in the assault.
