Poles block two checkpoints on the border with Ukraine

Polish carriers are currently blocking two checkpoints on the border with Ukraine, causing more than a thousand trucks to queue up. This was stated by Andriy Demchenko, a representative of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, during a telethon.

He reminded that the blockade is taking place in two directions.

"The participants of this blockade are hindering the movement of trucks at the Yagodyn and Rava-Ruska checkpoints. Earlier, the direction of the Shehyni checkpoint was unblocked, which was also blocked. Now the traffic is moving, but it is possible that such actions may resume again," said Demchenko.

According to him, currently there are 1050 trucks in line in Poland towards Ukraine in the two blocked directions, 400 of which are in front of the Rava-Ruska and 650 are in front of the Yagodyn checkpoint.

"In addition, there is a queue of about 1,000 trucks in the direction of the Krakowiec checkpoint. This direction was not blocked and is not blocked, but the queue arose because other directions are blocked and drivers and carriers are looking for alternative directions to cross the border," added the SBGS representative.

He added that as of this morning, there are also 200 trucks in the queues in the direction of Shehyni checkpoint, which are also waiting to cross the border towards Ukraine.

"But in the direction of Shehyni and Krakowiec, the activity and intensity of traffic for trucks is ensured in accordance with the capacity. Also, in those areas where the movement of vehicles is blocked, both cars and buses can cross the border. The traffic for this category of vehicles is not blocked by the protesters," he said.
