The Ukrainian Defense Forces are ready for any development in the Kupyansk direction. This was stated on February 4 in Telegram by the head of the Kharkiv RMA, Oleh Synegubov.
"Regarding the information of Forbes about the Russian offensive in the Kupyansk direction. The Russian army has been advancing in this direction since February 2022," Synegubov reminded.
According to him, the Russians did not abandon their intentions to recapture these territories after the de-occupation in the autumn of 2022, as this is a logistically important area for them. Therefore, the Russian army bombs and shells Kupyansk district every day, using its entire arsenal of weapons.
"For more than six months now, heavy fighting has been going on in all parts of the frontline, and the Russians have been conducting high-intensity assault operations. But the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been repelling enemy attacks all this time, we are constantly strengthening the defense capabilities of the entire region," the head of the RMA noted.
He emphasized that Ukraine's defense forces are ready for any further scenarios, enemy actions and a quick response to intelligence results.
As a reminder, on February 3, Forbes reported that Russia had deployed 500 tanks, more than 600 combat vehicles, hundreds of guns and 40,000 soldiers to the Kupyansk direction. According to the publication, by March 2024, the Russian army wants to capture the entire Donetsk and Luhansk regions and part of Kharkiv region up to the Oskol River.
