Zelensky does not call the situation at the front a stalemate - press secretary of the president

In an interview with the Italian TV channel RAI, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky did not talk about a "stalemate" at the front. Commenting on the ground operations, in particular, the counteroffensive in the south, he described it as "stagnation." The press secretary of the president Serhiy Nikiforov wrote about this on Facebook.

"In an interview with Italian TV channel RAI, the President of Ukraine did not talk about the alleged "stalemate" at the front. Speaking about the results of the summer actions, Volodymyr Zelensky said that their maritime part had a positive result: Ukraine was able to restore an independent "grain corridor," but the land part of the agreements ended in stagnation. We are talking specifically about counter-offensive actions in the south," Nikiforov noted.

He emphasized that this does not give the right to describe the overall situation at the front as a "stalemate".

"Ukraine will continue to de-occupy its territories. In the future, we urge you to choose your words more carefully so as not to support destructive narratives," Nikiforov said.

He also provided a quote from the President of Ukraine in an interview with RAI TV channel: "I would say this: the maritime part of the operation had a positive effect - we pushed their ships out, Russia lost a lot of ships, and most importantly, it lost influence in the emergency, and we built a "grain corridor" independent of Russia. So this part of the operation, the pragmatic part of the operation that affected the economy, the budget of Ukraine, we conducted it positively. As for the land line, you are right, there is stagnation there as well. And this is a fact, because something was missing. Sometimes you think that on this date, they will move forward. I believe that there were delays in terms of the amount of appropriate ammunition. And delays are a miscalculation. But, to be honest, we are not just fighting a terrorist organization - we are fighting terrorists, who are one of the largest armies in the world."

It is worth noting that the TV channel published a textual transcript of the president's interview, and it refers to the stalemate.

As we reported earlier, a stalemate has developed on the Russian-Ukrainian front.
