Polish farmers have announced a new strike on the border with Ukraine. The farmers said they were dissatisfied with the European Commission's decision on Ukraine. This is reported on the website of the "Solidarity" farmers' union.
"Our patience is over. The position of Brussels on the last day of January 2024 is unacceptable to our entire agricultural community," the statement reads.
Farmers say that the passivity of the Polish authorities and declarations of cooperation with the European Commission, which has decided to import goods from Ukraine, "leave us no choice but to declare a general strike."
Polish protesters announce strikes at all border crossings between Poland and Ukraine. They threatened to block roads and highways across the country.
The farmers' strike is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. on February 9 and will last until March 10.
