President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky did meet with Armed Forces Chief Valeriy Zaluzhnyi and offered him to resign. This was reported by the Dzerkalo Tyzhnia, citing its sources in Zaluzhnyi's circle and the President's Office.
"Zaluzhnyi responded to this proposal by saying that the president has the right to choose who he works with, but he refused to write a resignation letter and does not intend to do so," the source quoted the publication as saying.
At the same time, Zaluzhnyi has not been offered any significant position.
It is assumed that the likely resignation of the Armed Forces chief will be the first in a series of changes in the Ukrainian army's top command, as well as in other authorities.
