Slovakia will not put any obstacles in the way of Ukraine's approval of 50 billion euros from the EU. This was stated by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico during a press conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

"I understand that some of our statements may cause controversy. But we are asked to approve 50 billion euros for Ukraine for the next four years. Slovakia agrees and will agree. We will not create any obstacles," the Slovak Prime Minister said.

He also reminded that Slovakia did not oppose Ukraine's invitation to join the European Union, despite the fact that the country's preparation, in his opinion, was "very low."

"Okay, we also said yes to that and we assume that now there will be accession negotiations, which may take longer, but which must be done. I apologize, but I will publicly present my position as I see it," Fico added.
