Germany plans to transfer Sea King helicopters to Ukraine in April

The Sea King helicopters promised by Germany may arrive in Ukraine as early as April this year. This was announced at a briefing on Wednesday by German Defense Ministry spokesman Arno Kollatz.

"As for the Sea King, I can confirm that we have agreed with Ukraine to transfer 6 Sea King helicopters. This will be possible approximately from April," the spokesman said.

He assured that this will not reduce the combat capability of the Bundeswehr, which plans to gradually replace this type of helicopter with another - the Sea Lion. Meanwhile, during the consultations, the Ukrainian side expressed interest in the Sea King model. In addition to the helicopters themselves, spare parts and other items will be provided, as well as training.

Earlier, we reported that Germany will transfer military helicopters to Ukraine for the first time, these will be multi-purpose Sea King Mk41. This was announced by the country's Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, the German publication Tagesschau reports.
