Conscripts will not be able to go abroad if they have a second citizenship, - Kuleba

Conscripts will not be able to go abroad with another citizenship after the law on multiple citizenship is adopted. This was stated by Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba during a telethon.

The journalist asked whether a person (if the bill is passed) will be able to obtain another citizenship and demand to be released from the country during martial law. It was about conscripts who are restricted from traveling abroad during the war.

"No, these issues are also settled. A person has a duty to serve and defend the homeland, it is provided for in the Constitution of Ukraine. All of this is also regulated: the fulfillment of military duty and financial obligations to the state," Kuleba said.

According to him, Ukraine "did not invent the bicycle," and many countries have multiple citizenship institutions.
