Russian troops attacked Kherson, killing two people. This was reported by the head of the Kherson regional military administration Oleksandr Prokudin.
"In the afternoon, the occupiers shelled the streets of the city with artillery. A woman died on the spot. A burnt body was also found in a car. The person is being identified," he wrote.
The Prosecutor General's Office announced the launch of a pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings over violations of the laws and customs of war.
"On January 12, 2024, at about 12:00, the Russian military fired artillery at the city of Kherson. The enemy attack killed two citizens," the prosecutor's office said in a statement.
