Poland will not deport conscript Ukrainians, but is ready to create conditions for their independent return to Ukraine. This was stated by the chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Polish Sejm, Paweł Kowal, Sestry reports.
Kowal believes that there is no need to expel Ukrainians who are subject to conscription. However, Poland is ready to create such conditions for men to return to Ukraine on their own.
"We need to use mechanisms to ensure that young Ukrainians who can fight... return to Ukraine. That is, we need to make sure that when obtaining work permits, extending the period of stay on partnership terms, it is checked whether people can be mobilized in Ukraine," Kowal said.
He noted that Ukrainians are likely to be simply denied work and extension of temporary protection status, as well as canceled payments. Therefore, a person without a job, without money and in an illegal status will not last long in the country.
"In my opinion, this should also be the focus of the countries where many Ukrainians are staying. In other words, we need to make sure that when obtaining work permits, extending the period of stay, it is checked on a partnership basis whether people who are in other EU countries could be mobilized in Ukraine. It would also let off steam to those who say that Ukrainians have left instead of going and defending their country," he said.
At the same time, the politician did not explain what could prevent such a person from moving to another EU country.
