Ukrainian Armed Forces face shortage of ammunition near Avdiivka - El Pais

The Ukrainian armed forces near Avdiivka are experiencing an acute shortage of ammunition. This was reported by El Pais with reference to a sergeant of the 47th Mechanized Brigade named Oleksandr.

"The 47th Brigade, like many others, is on a diet of ammunition. Their arsenals are exhausted. They fight with what they have, and not always with what is best suited to hit the target," the article says.

Western weapons handed over to the Ukrainian Armed Forces are "overloaded" in many parts of the frontline, including near Avdiivka.

"Russia does not have better weapons, but it has more materials. And their strategy is to throw everything into the battle," says Yevhen, a soldier of the 47th Brigade.

El Pais writes that Russia has managed to increase weapons production under sanctions: "missiles are made at bread factories, ammunition is collected at tractor factories"
