On the morning of December 29, Russians attacked the city of Dnipro with missiles. The attack hit the Appolo shopping center, a maternity hospital, and a number of other infrastructure facilities. As of 11 a.m., 5 people were reported dead. The adjacent buildings were destroyed and a fire broke out, in particular, in the shopping center and the maternity hospital.


The head of the Dnipropetrovsk RMA, Serhiy Lysak, reported that the city's infrastructure was hit.


"It's a tragic morning for the region. The enemy attacked with rockets. Almost fifteen people were injured. Four of them were killed. In Dnipro we have a "hit" on a shopping center. A fire broke out. A private house, a six-story building, and a maternity hospital were damaged. We are still checking the information," he informed.

According to Dnipro Mayor Borys Filatov, rescuers managed to evacuate women from the burning maternity hospital.


"There are injured and dead. All local services are fully prepared and are working together with the State Emergency Service under the guidance of the Civil-Military Administration. It's okay to talk now, but my heart almost stopped when the phone rang for the hundredth time and the voice on the other end said: "They hit the maternity hospital with a rocket." They did. They hit. With a missile. Into a maternity hospital. Then the voice called back: "Exhale. The rocket went tangentially. The rescuers did a great job - they quickly pulled out 4 women in labor," Boris Filatov wrote on his telegram channel.


Due to the shelling in Dnipro, trolleybus routes 19, A, B and tram route 11 were suspended.


At 10:30 a.m., the head of the RMA Serhiy Lysak updated the information about the victims.

"There is one more victim. So now there are 5 victims. The number of injured has also increased. There are more than 20 of them. The search and rescue operation continues. There may be people under the rubble," he informed.
