On the night of December 29, Russian troops fired 158 missiles and kamikaze drones at Ukraine. Ukrainian air defense shot down more than 100 enemy targets. This was reported by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhnyi on Telegram.


At first, the Russians attacked Ukraine with "Shaheds" from the north and southeast. The drones moved in the western direction. A total of 36 drone launches were recorded. Air defense shot down 27 attack drones.


Around 3 a.m., Russian troops took to the sky strategic aviation - 18 Tu-95MS bombers. At 6:00 a.m., they reached the launching line and launched at least 90 X-101/X-555/X-55 air-launched cruise missiles.


At 5:00 a.m., Tu-22M3 bombers fired eight X-22/X-32 cruise missiles from the Kursk region toward the northern and central regions.


At the same time, the Russians struck Kharkiv with S-300 anti-aircraft missiles. In total, the enemy fired at least 14 ballistic missiles - S-300/S-400/Iskander-M from Crimea, Kursk and Belgorod regions of the Russian Federation.


At 6:30 a.m., five MiG-31K aircraft fired five X-47M2 Kinzhal missiles from Astrakhan region. In addition, four X-31P and one X-59 anti-radar missiles were fired from Su-35 tactical aircraft.


According to Zaluzhnyi, the Russians fired a total of 158 missiles of various types and attack drones that night. Air defense forces shot down 27 Shaheds and 87 X-101/X-555/X-55 cruise missiles.
