Tarnavskyi: 2024 may be more difficult for Ukraine

General Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, commander of the Tavria operational-strategic group of troops, commented on the possibility of ending the war next year. He predicts that next year may be even more difficult for Ukraine. He said this in an interview with the BBC.

Thus, giving a forecast of what will happen at the front after the New Year, Tarnavskyi said: "I think that next year will probably be even harder. Because we have to finish fighting and liberating our territories. And the closer we get to fulfilling this task, the main goal - reaching our borders, it will be even more difficult."

He noted that the enemy is aware of these intentions of Ukraine and will do everything to prevent the country from fulfilling them.

"So, as they say, good luck to us, and good luck to them - they have made their choice. That's why I say it will be a difficult year," he emphasized.

When asked whether he believes it is realistic to end the war next year, Tarnavskyi replied: "I never raise the question of 'ending the war'. The question is to win the war. Because there are different ways to end the war. For us, the military, it is a victory."
