Russian troops are unable to realize their plans to capture Avdiivka in Donetsk region, so they are increasing the number of shelling. This was stated by the head of Avdiivka city military administration Vitaliy Barabash during a telethon.
"The city is being destroyed more, there is more shelling, more civilians are dying. The number of attacks on the city and on the positions around the city has increased. If a week ago we recorded an average of 30 attacks per day on the territory of the community, the last few days have seen 40 or more," said Barabash.
According to him, it is quite clear that the enemy cannot implement its plans to surround and capture the city, so "it is trying to compensate for this by increasing the density of shelling."
