The red line of the Kyiv metro may be partially closed for repairs. This was announced during a telethon by Andriy Vitrenko (Servant of the People), chairman of the Kyiv City Council's Standing Committee on Budget.
The examination can confirm the emergency condition of the Metro bridge, which has been in a "tired" state for at least two years. This year, funds were planned in the budget for its repair.
"For two years, no one paid attention to this, they just stated this fact. If an expert assessment shows that the Metro bridge will need to be closed, funds have now been allocated to develop design and estimate documentation and create appropriate search works," Vitrenko said.
He considers such a scenario "apocalyptic" because bridges in Kyiv are of strategic importance, in particular for the activities of the Armed Forces.
"Therefore, this is a terrible event that can happen at any time," the MP said.
As a reminder, six metro stations on the Blue Line were recently closed for six months.
