According to US intelligence, Russia has lost 90% of its personnel in the war with Ukraine, which it had assembled before the start of the full-scale invasion. Reuters writes about this, citing its sources.

In particular, we are talking about about 315 thousand military personnel who were killed or wounded in the fighting on the territory of Ukraine.

The losses of the Russian Federation not only in manpower but also in equipment have set the state of the Russian army back 18 years, the article says.

The publication writes that the Russian authorities are skeptical of such Western estimates of losses in the Russian army. However, a recent US intelligence report states that in February last year, Russia deployed 360,000 troops for a full-scale offensive. For almost two years of fighting on the front, Russia has lost 87% of this number - 315,000 troops - in wounded and killed.

It is noted that it is because of the heavy losses that Russia has reduced the recruitment criteria for its army to maintain its combat capability. It is about mobilization at the end of 2022 and the involvement of prisoners, in particular, in hostilities.

In addition to losses in manpower, the occupiers also lost many tanks. The publication writes that while the Russian Armed Forces had 3,100 tanks at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, they lost 2,200 in the battle. The Russian army compensated for the destroyed equipment with T62 tanks, which were manufactured in the 1970s.
