Russian hackers claim responsibility for attack on Kyivstar

Russian hackers from the Solntsepek group have claimed responsibility for a cyberattack on Kyivstar mobile operator. They announced this on their Telegram channel.

"We have destroyed 10 thousand computers, more than 4 thousand servers, all cloud storage and backup systems," the message reads.

They also hinted that some "concerned" Kyivstar employees helped them in the attack.

They stated that they chose this communications provider as a target because of its strategic importance: "The company provides communications to the Armed Forces, government bodies and law enforcement agencies of Ukraine."

The hackers also said they were preparing attacks on other companies.
