On the morning of December 8, the power system recorded a record high level of consumption for this heating season. Residents of the country are once again urged to save electricity. This was reported by the press service of Ukrenergo.
"This morning, Ukrenergo's Dispatch Center again recorded a high level of consumption, almost the same as yesterday's record," the statement said.
The campaign calls for economical electricity consumption to avoid shortages and maintain a balance between production and consumption.
"There are currently no spare capacities at power plants. One of the thermal power plants in the eastern region has been damaged once again as a result of systematic and prolonged shelling. In another region, one of the power units was put under emergency repair due to equipment failures. Repairs are still underway at some thermal power plants, and solar power plants cannot operate at their maximum capacity due to dense cloud cover across the country," the companies said.
In order to avoid outages and maintain the balance in the power system, Ukrenergo is forced to engage emergency assistance from the transmission system operators of Romania and Poland from 11:00 to 19:00 today with a capacity of 400 MW.
"At the same time, no consumption limits were introduced, no outage schedules were introduced and are not expected," Ukrenergo added.
