Ukrainians may be obliged to appear at the TCC within 48 hours of receiving a summons by e-mail or registered letter. This is reported by BBC-Ukraine, whose journalists got acquainted with the main ideas of the future draft law.
The new draft law, registered in the Rada, provides that summonses can be served not only in person under signature, but also by sending them by e-mail or registered letter. After notification, the citizen will be obliged to appear at the TCC within 48 hours.
It should be noted that MP Fedir Venislavsky, who was dismissed from his post as the President's representative in the Rada today, had previously announced plans to send summonses by e-mail.
The term of arrest and fines for evading summons will be increased, and it will be possible to bring offenders to justice in absentia. At the same time, the circle of citizens eligible for deferral will be narrowed.
Diia may also introduce an analog of a military ID card, the "Certificate of a Defender". A citizen will have to demonstrate this "certificate" when registering ownership rights to immovable and movable property, getting married/divorced, obtaining higher education or medical services, as well as crossing the state border.
TCCs will have more tools to check citizens' military registration documents on the streets, bring them to military commissariats, and put them on the wanted list.
The final version of the draft law is not yet available, it is still being approved.
