In a Zhytomyr military unit, boards with 28 kilograms of gold and 60 kilograms of silver worth 65 million hryvnias were found. This property was not registered with the military unit, according to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

During the inspection, blocks with unknown contents were found in two garages on the territory of the military unit. After inspection, it turned out that, according to passport data, they contained approximately 50 tons of unaccounted-for boards containing precious metals: 28 kilograms of gold, 60 kilograms of silver, 590 platinum group metals.

"During the audit, it was established that these boards were not registered with the military unit. Although one of the unit's tasks was to store this property," the statement said.

The boards were valued at UAH 65.66 million and registered. The Ministry of Defense is currently investigating how the valuable property disappeared from the register. The internal audit materials will be handed over to law enforcement. The Ministry wants to bring the unit commander to justice.
