Kyiv's allies around the world should create a "defensive shield" over Ukraine to protect it from Russian attacks in the winter. This was stated by German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock in a statement to DW.

"Russia's goal is again civilian infrastructure," she said on the sidelines of a meeting of NATO foreign ministers in Brussels.

Berlin has already provided Kyiv with power generators and Patriot air defense systems, the German foreign minister said, calling on other Ukraine's allies around the world to follow this example.

Such attacks are meant to deprive Ukrainians of electricity and warm water in the winter, Baerbock explained.
