Hungary will never supply weapons to Ukraine, as "the more weapons we supply, the longer the war will last." This was stated by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijarto in an interview with CNBC.
Szijarto added that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in October to see if there was any possibility for peace in the conflict.
According to CNBC, despite being a member of the EU, Hungary has maintained friendlier ties with Russia, opposing European sanctions on Moscow and attempts to limit imports of Russian oil and gas.
Hungary defends its energy cooperation with Russia, saying it needs to maintain energy supplies and fight inflation.
