At the Shehyni checkpoint, the movement of freight transport is hampered due to the blocking of traffic in Poland. This was reported by the spokesman for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Andriy Demchenko, in a comment to Ukrainska Pravda.
"According to the available information provided by Polish border guards, today at about 10:30 a.m., on the road in front of the Medyka checkpoint (Republic of Poland), adjacent to the Ukrainian Shehyni checkpoint, the traffic of freight vehicles was blocked in Poland. In this regard, traffic may be hampered both when leaving Poland and entering," he said.
All four checkpoints on the border with Poland for trucks weighing more than 7.5 tons are currently blocked. About 1,400 trucks are waiting to enter Ukraine on the territory of Poland.
The organizers of the blockade noted that they do not intend to interfere with the movement of buses and cars.
Polish border guards warn that the blockade may last from November 23 to 26.
Ukraine's border guards are taking measures to monitor the situation and clarify the procedure for further passage of freight transport and determine the categories of cargo that can be allowed across the border.
