British Foreign Secretary David Cameron, during his first visit to Ukraine in his new position, said that Russia is waiting in vain for the West to get tired of supporting Kyiv. This is reported by the official website of the British government.
"Russia believes that it can 'wait out' this war and that the West will eventually turn its attention to other matters. This view is furthest from the truth. In my first conversations with President Zelensky in my new position, I made it clear that the UK and our partners will stand by Ukraine and its people for as long as they need to win," Cameron said.
According to him, the UK continues to support the Ukrainian people as winter approaches.
"Over the past three months, they have pushed Russia back in the Black Sea and opened up vital sea trade routes for the Ukrainian economy and global food supplies," he added.
As we reported earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky met with David Cameron in Kyiv, the former prime minister's first international visit since becoming the UK foreign secretary.
