Defense Minister of Ukraine Rustem Umerov heard a report on the circumstances of the missile attack on the 128th Brigade in Zaporizhzhia region on November 3. He posted this on Facebook.
According to him, they managed to establish the circumstances and events that took place in the courtyard of the house where the missile strike occurred.
"They really gathered the fighters in the yard to reward them. All the rules of camouflage were ignored. More than ten cars were parked nearby," Umerov wrote.
It is also known that at that time a Russian reconnaissance drone was spotted in the sky above the village. The military spotted it, and an air alert was declared in the region. The military was warned about the sector where the enemy UAV was operating. At the same time, immediately after the missile launch was detected, a "missile danger" signal was issued.
"No centralized security measures were taken at the place of the award ceremony. The investigation into this case is ongoing. In particular, it is being conducted by the State Bureau of Investigation. All those responsible for this tragedy will be punished according to the law," Umerov said.
He instructed the General Staff to check the implementation of security protocols in the units and called on commanders responsible for the safety of soldiers not to neglect security measures.
