More specific requirements of the European Commission for Ukraine to start negotiations on EU accession have become known. This is reported by Radio Liberty.

The European Commission recommends approving the negotiations when Ukraine takes the following steps:

- increase the number of NABU staff;

- lifting restrictions on the NACP's powers to verify assets;

- a law on lobbying as part of deoligarchization;

- bringing laws on national minorities, the state language, media and education in line with the recommendations of the Venice Commission;

Currently, Ukraine has fulfilled 4 of the 7 criteria. The next report of the European Commission is scheduled for March 2024.
