Russian troops are likely preparing for a new wave of attacks in the area of Avdiivka, Donetsk region. They will attack despite heavy losses in equipment and manpower, according to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
"The occupiers may be preparing to move to infantry-led frontal attacks after heavy artillery training to compensate for heavy losses of equipment in Avdiivka during October," the report says.
The GeoConfirmed geolocation project has used satellite imagery to prove that at least 197 Russian vehicles have been damaged or destroyed since October 9.
Analysts characterized the Russian losses near Avdiivka as the largest in such a short period of time.
