On Wednesday night, Russian troops shelled the territory near the Khmelnytskyi NPP, the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine reported.
The explosion damaged windows in the administrative and laboratory buildings. Due to the damage to the power lines, 1.86 thousand consumers in the cities of Slavuta and Netishyn, Khmelnytsky region, were cut off from electricity. Restoration work will begin as soon as power engineers are allowed to the site of the damage.
The ministry also reported that two thermal generation units were taken out of service a day later. On Tuesday, three more TPP units were also taken out for emergency repairs, but by the end of the day they were reconnected to the power grid.
"The electricity generated by Ukrainian power plants is quite enough to meet the needs of consumers," the press service said.
