Slovakia has purchased German MANTIS air defense systems, which are intended to strengthen the protection of the border with Ukraine. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Slovakia.

It is emphasized that the air defense systems entered service with the 11th Brigade of the Air Force of the Slovak Armed Forces in Nitra.

These systems are designed to strengthen the protection of the country's eastern border with Ukraine and will be used to protect objects of special importance.

Each of the two systems consists of six automated devices (expandable to eight), two sensor stations and a command post.

In total, these systems are operated by more than a hundred soldiers who have undergone full technical training and practical firing.

The delivery from Germany reportedly also includes five observation radars with a range of up to 100 km and training for the Slovak military.
