Russian troops are likely to try to significantly damage the gas infrastructure in Ukraine with their strikes. To prevent the threat of a gas blackout, a comprehensive system of facility protection has been prepared. This was stated by Oleksiy Chernyshov, head of Naftogaz of Ukraine, during a national telethon.
"We all understand that a full-scale war is underway, and the enemy will try to deprive Ukrainians of basic services," he said.
According to the head of NAK, Naftogaz is preparing for various scenarios.
"We are preparing and have completed comprehensive and basic protection of our facilities. Therefore, we expect and are ready for various events," Chernyshov emphasized.
He also explained how the use of domestic gas would affect bills. The representative of Naftogaz assured that no rise in the price of natural gas is expected.
"I have to reassure all consumers in this regard. The price is fixed. The price will not increase during this winter," Chernyshov said.
He reminded of the moratorium on tariff increases, on price increases for both heating and natural gas.
"But, of course, the growth of production in Ukraine allows the country to actually save foreign currency and not use imports. Therefore, this is an important factor for the economic strengthening of our country," added the Head of Naftogaz.
