Air Force speaker Yuriy Ihnat suggested that Russia has systems that can shoot down ATACMS ballistic missiles. He said this on the air of a national telethon.
According to him, Moscow declares that it has "one of the best weapons in the world."
"In terms of media, they will tell the whole world, because they are a serious player in the arms market. Such things as the downing of the Kinzhal, the sinking of the Moskva, the destruction of the S-400 system and now the ATACMS is a new blow to their image," Ihnat said.
He noted that Russia may have air defense systems that can shoot down ballistic missiles.
"Well, it is possible. But everything needs to be checked in practice. The S-300V1 systems with certain missiles can cope with ballistics, maybe the S-400, but this also needs to be proven," the military summarized.
