Russian troops continue to try to surround Avdiivka in Donetsk region, and conduct assaults from the southern and northern directions. At the same time, the Ukrainian military repelled all enemy attacks. This was stated by the head of the Avdiivka city military administration Vitaliy Barabash on the air of the national telethon.
The official emphasizes that the Russians failed to make a single breakthrough, and called the stories of Russian propagandists about the allegedly "broken defense line" another fake.
At the same time, the administration representative emphasizes that enemy massive shelling of the Avdiivka community and the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces does not stop day or night. Barabash added that Russian troops are using all available weapons to attack.
Thus, last night, the Russians struck with aerial bombs and missiles, as well as used cannon artillery.
According to the head of the General Military Administration, Russian troops are continuing their attempts to encircle Avdiivka, and "are sending more and more forces to the assaults to the south and north of the city."
Barabash also spoke about the tactics used by the occupiers recently.
"Over the past two days, they have been acting mostly in small groups, trying to attack in several directions at the same time to find gaps in the defense," he explained.
The official summarizes that the enemy has not succeeded, and "all attacks have been repelled, the defense is holding."
