Attempts to surround the city of Kupyansk in Kharkiv region continue, despite significant losses among Russian forces. At the same time, the enemy is constantly replenishing its personnel. This was stated by the Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel General Oleksandr Syrskyi in an interview with UNIAN.
"The situation on the eastern front remains quite difficult. The enemy continues to conduct offensive actions practically along the entire strip, focusing its main efforts on the Kupyansk and Bakhmut directions. The enemy is suffering serious losses, primarily in personnel, but is constantly replenishing them by moving reserves, in particular from the territory of the Russian Federation," said Syryskyi.
According to the commander, the main threat is centered on Russian attempts to break through the Ukrainian defense in the area of Kupyansk forest and on the Orlianske - Petropavlivka highway. The enemy's goal is to reach the city of Kupyansk with its subsequent blocking and encirclement.
